Awake During The Dream
Asleep at the Wheel

Contemplating being awake during the dream from deep, deep, deep in Heart Space has shown up a lot lately for me. What is showing up is beneficial to me and I hope to you as well.

Have you every…

  • had a dream where you were being chased or felt like you were being followed? Or a dream where you had somewhere to go or something important to do?
  • had a dream where you felt pressure that something was life threatening or earth shattering and certain actions need to take place to avert disaster? Maybe something like this on a personal level?
  • In your dreams do other people show up out of the blue? People you know, people you don’t know personally?
  • had animals in your dreams?
  • In your dream do you go through a wide range of emotions? Have you ever experienced in a dream… fear, love, hate, anger, sadness, rage, joy, peace, exhilaration, even the feeling of flying? Have there been things you like and things you dislike?
  • Have you ever changed jobs in a dream? Changed relationships? Been rich, been poor?
  • How about have you ever awakened from a dream, thought you were awake to only realize it was another dream?
  • Do your dreams feel real when they are happening? To the point that when you are waking up you are not sure you are in a dream or awake?

I suspect most people have had these types of experiences.

Now some may have even had the experience of being awake during the dream or what is called ‘Lucid Dreaming’ as my friend Connie wrote of her very 1st experience of this…

“I’m not familiar at all with "lucid dreaming (being awake during the dream)," but I'm pretty sure that's what I had. I was IN the dream with my conscious mind knowing I'm there, and critiquing and shifting things. At first it was a kind of bewilderment and a sense of weirdness (inside the dream) like "what the hell is going on? This makes absolutely no sense" and rationally trying to figure out causes of events and next moves, etc.

For example, I arrived somewhere (at school) and I notice that I'm not wearing my shoes--I look down and see white cotton socks. I'm absolutely perplexed. Where are my shoes? Did I walk all the way here without my shoes? Did I take them off? I don't remember taking them off. If I walked here without my shoes wouldn't my feet hurt? Where are my shoes? Who do I need to talk to about this? Is it permitted to be without shoes here?

Then I look down again, and I'm wearing white sneakers. I analyze those and decide that they're wrong. I look down again, and I'm wearing my shoes. The ones I DO wear. Black leather shoes.

Things like that. Events occur, and my analytical mind is fully present and hard at work. Why is this happening? What do I need to do now? and so on. Does it sound like a lucid dream? To my knowledge I've never had one before. And, also inside this dream, I do reason it out and decide that I am dreaming.

Anyway, I woke up with an unusual clarity (in remembering the dream).”

What most people do when they have one of these awake during the dream experiences is focus on doing more of it so as to change their every day experience into one they truly enjoy.

While this is a fun, and possible a useful, thing to do I would like to offer another possibility and use of these types of information based on what is showing up from Heart Space, what I label Awareness Technology and is being put forth by people like Gregg Baden in “The Science of Miracles” and Richard Bartlett in “The Physics of Miracles” and the work of Grigori Grabovoi, Arcady Petrov, and Igor Arapjev in the old Soviet Union, Braco, Mahendra Kumar Trivedi, Robert Scheinfeld, Arnold Patent, Tony Parson and others.

I suspect a more useful way of applying the awake during the dream process is to begin applying to what we consider being awake or we could call it ‘Lucid Living’.
Every experience we have in a dream is really us, we are just not AWARE of it at the time we are dreaming. The other people, the other situations, the feelings and emotions that we attribute to situations, circumstance and others are ‘all’ the person having the dream, even though it doesn’t seem that way or feel that way in the dream.

Could this be the truth of what we call
our day to day human experience?

The new Awareness Technology suggest and are changing the supposedly awake human experience the exact same way that someone using the awake during the dream process does to immediately shift or change what is happening in the dream. The potential and possibilities are unbelievable until you begin to play with the technology just a little bit.
